According to Kinsella Dewsbury-Hall is not keen to leave Leicester even though the prospect of joining Chelsea would be an attractive one. And despite having worked with him last season, the directive to sign Dewsbury-Hall has not come from Maresca with the Chelsea manager making no demands – but instead it was a decision taken by the recruitment team.
It will be interesting to see whether Chelsea pursue the deal any further. The club have plenty of midfield options available to Maresca. However, there are rumours of Conor Gallagher potentially being on the move with the likes of Aston Villa are interested.
Dewsbury-Hall could be an ideal replacement for Gallagher – the fact that he is also homegrown makes him a strong asset to have.
However, much will depend on how much Leicester will demand for Dewsbury-Hall’s with the player on a long-term contract until 2027 – it doesn’t feel like the club will be rushed into a move.
