The Blues suffered a severe transfer setback on Friday. After spending the past week in talks with Crystal Palace superstar Olise, Chelsea were forced to withdraw from the race to sign him due to concerns over his price.

The 22-year-old subsequently decided that he wants to head to Bayern Munich, in large part due to their being in the Champions League, and the German giants have now sealed a deal with Crystal Palace, according to Sky Germany.

In addition to the hefty financial package, Chelsea also decided to end their pursuit of Olise due to the fact that they already have several left-footed attackers at the club. The Blues will now focus on signing a new striker, with Aston Villa's Omari Kellyman seemingly close to joining.

However, despite not going for Olise, Chelsea are still expected to add another wide player, though he will likely be right-footed to provide competition for the underwhelming Mykhailo Mudryk.

Chelsea want Summerville

According to Ben Jacobs, the player Chelsea could ultimately decide to go for could be Crysencio Summerville. Leeds United missed out on promotion back to the Premier League and will struggle to keep hold of the Championship's Player of the Season.

The Dutchman netted 19 goals and added nine assists in 43 league outings last term and is being chased by big hitters such as Chelsea, Brighton and Liverpool, as revealed by FootballTransfers.

Jacobs insists that the 22-year-old could be 'one to keep an eye on' after the Olise saga. "That's a player that Chelsea see at value because of Leeds' situation," the journalist said on the London is Blue podcast.

"Leeds don't need a hundred million despite reports, but they need at least 60 or 70 million...Summerville could be in the region of 35 or 40 million. So, far more value there, a form player, a young profile, exactly the kind of thing that Chelsea may look for."
