Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson is reportedly considering a summer exit after just one year at the club.

The 22-year-old moved to Stamford Bridge for €37 million last year, but he is already unsettled and is open to leaving following Mauricio Pochettino’s departure.

That is according to TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook, who has reported that Jackson is unhappy with Chelsea’s decision to part ways with Pochettino and is now considering his future in west London as a result.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Jackson, although Diego Simeone’s side are also keen on Girona’s Artem Dovbyk after his stellar 2023-24 campaign.

Jackson scored 17 goals and provided six assists in all competitions last season, but he was widely criticised for several high-profile misses, most notably against Manchester City in Chelsea’s 1-0 FA Cup semi-final defeat.

Enzo Maresca’s side have been heavily linked with signing a new centre-forward this summer, although their pursuit of a striker has taken a backseat amid their interest in Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.

Jhon Duran is seemingly Chelsea’s top striker target as things stand, although the Blues are unsure whether or not to sign the Aston Villa man.

Interest in Napoli’s Victor Osimhen has died down, with Chelsea unlikely to sign the Nigeria international this summer.

Nicolas Jackson to leave Chelsea?

After Pochettino’s departure was confirmed, Jackson expressed his dissatisfaction on social media. “Love you coach,” he wrote on Instagram. “Wish we could stay together more [face palm emoji]. But may God continue to bless you and your family.

“Thanks for the advice and support, you're a true lion and fighter. I wish you all the best [red heart emoji].”

Although Jackson has been linked with a Chelsea exit, he is likely to still be at the club next season. The Senegalese forward has spent less than 12 months at Stamford Bridge and showed glimpses of his talent during an encouraging debut campaign.
