However, Chelsea have deemed him surplus to requirements and someone they believe they can make a profit on this summer in order to prevent potential financial fair play penalties.

The likes of Tottenham and Aston Villa have been previously linked with Gallagher’s services. However, it’s not just those two Premier League sides who are reportedly in the race to sign the England international.

According to AS in Spain, Atletico Madrid are also eyeing a move for Gallagher. Meanwhile, Man Utd and Arsenal have both entered the race as well and have asked to be kept up to date with Gallagher’s current situation.

Chelsea's Gallagher valuation

AS claims Chelsea will are seeking at least €50 million (£42m) for Gallagher’s services. He has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €50.1m, making the Blues' valuation of their academy product right on point.

He is a homegrown player, making him a rare commodity and hence boosting his value.

Furthermore, at just 24 years old, his peak years are expected to be ahead of him and yet he is already a proven Premier League performer from his time at both Stamford Bridge and during a loan spell at Crystal Palace.

Last term, he turned out 54 times for Chelsea and contributed 16 goals. He was a player that Mauricio Pochettino had firmly in his plans. However, a change of manager means that he has lost a key ally behind the scenes, with the Blues eager to sell him for accounting reasons.

Chelsea's loss could be the gain of one of their rivals.
