Fabrizio Romano Transfer News Today: Branthwaite update, Chelsea rejected, Alvarez interest
Fabrizio Romano has dropped the latest football transfer news updates, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Julian Alvarez all mentioned.
The reporter has answered questions put to him by supporters across the globe, with attention also on Chelsea missing out on their target Pedro Lima.
Wolves hijacked the deal and are close to sealing a move for the 17-year-old from Brazilian side Sport Recife.

Romano has given an update on the situation on his YouTube channel.
“Brazilian right back Pedro Lima, who was one step away from joining Chelsea’s ownership, spoke overnight in an interview in Brazil and said: 'Yes, I'm about to join Chelsea - it's almost signed everything is okay.'
"So the player himself confirmed the move; the documents were in review in a deal worth €7 million. So everything was all set between the BlueCo Group, Strasburg in this case, with a view to joining Chelsea.
“What happened is that Wolves, working with a different agent behind the scenes, were able to agree on a deal and to sign the documents between clubs, so now everything is done between Wolves and his club is done for more than €10m, including commissions.”
Forest close in on keeper
Romano also confirmed FootballTransfers’ story that Nottingham Forest were set to seal a move for Corinthians’ Carlos Miguel.
“Nottingham Forest are triggering the clause to sign Corinthians goalkeeper Carlos Miguel for €4m. We are waiting on the medical ahead of a move there.

Crysencio Summerville is also being monitored by Premier League clubs this window, Romano has confirmed.
“Between Brighton and Summerville, the wonderful talent of Leeds United, who is on the list of Chelsea and Liverpool. Both clubs have been scouting him for months but now Brighton are really serious on this one.
"Brighton made contact to be informed of the situation of the player so Summerville could be one to watch in the next days with Brighton pushing. Their manager already approved this possibility.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia wants to leave
“A bomb from yesterday night with the father of the player speaking the age of the player speaking - what we can say is that Napoli's position, even after the official statement, is still the same.
"Napoli have no intention to sell Kvaratskhelia this summer they already informed the player already three weeks ago so Napoli has been very clear they don't want to sell Kvaratskhelia. They want to extend his contract and include release close into the contract.”

PSG in for Alvarez
“Paris Saint-Germain in for Julian Alvarez. As I'm receiving many questions on Alvarez and Chelsea and Premier League clubs, at the moment there is no bid Alvarez - this is the reality. Premier League clubs can have an interest for sure but at the moment no Premier League clubs have presented a concrete and serious proposal for.
"Now the most interested club remains Paris. They have genuine interest in Julian Alvarez but they know that Manchester City, at the moment, have no intention to sell the player. So in case Manchester City decides to put a price and sell him, PSG will be really interested and prepared to attack the situation.
“After some contacts they had in the past few weeks but if the situation remains like of today so with Manchester City not intention to let Alvarez leave, Paris plans to go for other players.”
Branthwaite and Man Utd
Romano also spilled the beans on Branthwaite and Manchester United.
“Let me clarify one more thing guys on this one after the bid rejected £35m. Last week, Man Utd’s position when they heard Everton’s position, what I told you is still the same: Everton want at least £65m to let the deal happen and start the negotiations . Everton have no intention of letting him go for less than that - so this is the position of Everton but Manchester United don't want to pay the kind of United tax.
“Personal terms are not the problem - already agreed after conversations they had with player side. Manchester United could be prepared to go on different options for the new centre-back. We know they considered many centre-backs in recent months. They've been scouting Gleison Bremer from Juventus. Jean-Clair Todibo is one of the centre backs they've been following for months but let's see if they will decide to attack these two.
