Arsenal and Chelsea battle over €45m European champion
Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle are all interested in signing Federico Chiesa from Juventus, according to a report.
Tutto Juve reports that the trio of Premier League clubs are all weighing up the possibility of signing the creative forward for a sum in the region of €40-45 million.
Chiesa is coming off a season in which he scored nine top-flight goals from a side that was coached by Massimiliano Allegri for the majority of the season but is set for renovation under Thiago Motta next term.

In total, he has played 131 times for the Turin giants, scoring 32 goals, with his career having stalled during the 2021/22 campaign, in which he suffered a hamstring injury before suffering a serious knee problem that kept him out for the best part of a year.
Chiesa has not yet rediscovered the level that saw him lead Italy to Euro 2020 glory three years ago, but he will be a leading figure for the Azzurri at the European Championship in Germany.

Premier League interest in Chiesa
Arsenal are said to be following the player because manager Mikel Arteta wants additional options in the wide areas. The Gunners are following numerous players in this area, but do not appear to be particularly advanced with any of their targets.
The Gunners are, however, closely monitoring Athletic Club winger Nico Williams and are willing to trigger the Spain international’s release clause.
Chelsea, meanwhile, may be well stocked in the wide areas, but according to the report Enzo Maresca wants a player who offers greater productivity than Raheem Sterling, Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke, all of whom were disappointing last term.
Sterling’s future, in particular, appears to be in the balance this summer.
Finally, Newcastle are eyeing Chiesa as a potential replacement for Miguel Almiron, although the ability of the Magpies to spend such a big fee is questionable. The St James’ Park club are thought to be in need to sell before buying this summer, which is the same position the Blues find themselves in.
Interestingly, there is no mention of Manchester United in the report. Juventus were reportedly willing to offer Chiesa as part of a swap deal for Mason Greenwood.
