Liverpool are the latest club to be credited with an interest in Eberechi Eze, according to a report.

When talking about Crystal Palace players over the past 12 months, the focus has mostly been on Michael Olise, who is a top target for Chelsea and Man Utd this summer.

However, interest in teammate Eberechi Eze is now rapidly increasing after a very good season and a brilliant outing for England against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The 25-year-old attacking midfielder recorded 11 goals and six assists in 31 appearances across all competitions in 2023/24, putting his name firmly on the map for England's biggest clubs.

FootballTransfers has been exclusively reporting about Tottenham's concrete interest in the Crystal Palace star since April and we were the first to reveal that it would require at least €70 million to prise him away from Selhurst Park, which has now been confirmed by other outlets.

Liverpool join race

In addition to Spurs, Man City have been linked with Eze on and off since last summer when they looked at the player before ultimately signing Matheus Nunes from Wolves. In light of Kevin de Bruyne's future becoming increasingly uncertain, Eze has reemerged as an option for Pep Guardiola.

It has also been posited that Eze could follow Michael Olise in potentially heading to Man Utd, but it is doubtful whether the Red Devils will have the means to sign two €70m players this summer. Plus, coach Oliver Glasner is trying his hardest to convince the pair to stay after a spectacular end to the campaign.

Now, TBR Football claims that Liverpool are firmly in the race for Eze, with Newcastle also among the clubs interested in the England star. Despite persistent links with defensive midfielders, it has recently been asserted that the Reds are happy to go into next season with Wataru Endo and young Stefan Bajcetic in that position.

Not signing a holding midfielder could free up funds for a move for Eze, with the Reds pulling off a similar deal when they signed Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig last season. The Hungarian also had a €70m release clause in his deal.
