Liverpool have entered the conversation for Michael Olise in a bid to beat Chelsea and Manchester United to his signature, FootballTransfers can reveal.

The Reds are in the market for a right-winger, with the Crystal Palace attacker as well as Johan Bakayoko of PSV Eindhoven both on their shortlist.

The Reds are trying to do their business under the radar this summer. New head coach Arne Slot is working in tandem with Michael Edwards, the club’s chief executive of football, and Richard Hughes, their sporting director.

Liverpool are looking for a successor to Mohamed Salah but there are concerns about the level of game-time that could be on offer to Olise next season, making a possible deal tricky.

The winger is hopeful of landing a club in the Champions League but has an affinity to Man Utd, being a boyhood fan, while Chelsea can offer him the chance to stay in London.

As reported elsewhere, Crystal Palace want the full release clause of £60 million met to allow him to leave.

Meanwhile, the possibility of Marc Guéhi departing could make the move trickier. Olise will not push for an exit from Palace this summer but the level of interest could see a breakthrough.

Newcastle are also thought to be keen but know that it would be a hugely tricky deal to do and it’s deemed very unlikely that the 22-year-old would make the move to St James’ Park.

Will Olise leave Crystal Palace?

Last year, the France U21 international was close to joining Chelsea, but he opted to snub the Blues at the last minute in favour of staying at Palace.

The Blues already have Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, Raheem Sterling, Omari Hutchinson and Angelo Gabriel as right winger options but the futures of those remain uncertain.

Olise joined Palace from Reading in 2021 after the Eagles activated his £8.37m release clause. He has made 90 appearances and scored 16 goals in that time.
