Man City Transfer News Today: Grealish taking rejection hard, Xavi Simons and Bruno Guimaraes latest
Manchester City approach the summer transfer window with the difficult task of improving a team that has swept to the Premier League title in each of the last four seasons.
Pep Guardiola has hinted that this could be his last campaign at the Etihad Stadium, yet he is still seeking to strengthen his panel, with changes possible, in particular, in midfield.
Here is the latest Man City transfer news.

Xavi Simons interest
Manchester City are one of the clubs interested in signing Xavi Simons from PSG, L’Equipe reports.
The Netherlands international is unsettled in France and spent last season on loan at RB Leipzig, where he scored 10 goals and created 15 more.
PSG are adamant they will not sell at this juncture. Why? Because if they do, most of the money will go to PSV.
As such, the Ligue 1 champions are seeking to loan Simons out for another year.
Although there are indications that Manchester United, Arsenal and Bayern Munich also want to sign him, Simons is said to be “aiming for stability” and wants to return to RB Leipzig.
Bruno Guimaraes deal latest
Manchester City will consider a move for Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes if the player asks to leave his current club.
City do not, however, value Newcastle midfielder Bruno at the price of his €117 million (£100m) release clause and will not be drawn into bidding for the Brazil international if the St James’ Park side continue to demand that price, ESPN reports.
They have until the end of June to trigger that deal.
Arsenal have also been following the 26-year-old but have drawn the same conclusion as Guardiola’s side.
Man City would be happy with no signings
City would be happy to go into the new season without signing anyone, ESPN confirms.
This is working on the basis that Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and Ederson all remain at the club. None of the trio have indicated that they want to leave.
Instead, Joao Cancelo and Kalvin Phillips are earmarked for the exit door. City will consider loans, with Everton interested in Phillips, potentially as an Amadou Onana replacement. Onana is linked to Arsenal and Aston Villa.
The Sun, meanwhile, reports that City will not accept a bid under £25m for Joao Cancelo, who spent last season on loan at Barcelona, who wish to re-sign him.
Grealish taking Euro 2024 rejection hard
Jack Grealish is struggling to come to terms with missing out on the England squad for Euro 2024, according to The Sun.
An anonymous source told the paper: “It looked like the rejection by Gareth Southgate had hit hard.
“He's clearly taking time to work through his Euros rejection...At least he had his friends around him.”
Grealish, who overcame difficulties with Guardiola last season to finish the season in superb form, has been holidaying in Dubai and appears set to remain with Man City next term.
