Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has firmly closed the door to a Saudi move.

The Danish veteran is facing an uncertain future after being supplanted by wonderkid Kobbie Mainoo in Erik ten Hag's squad last season. The English youngster's stunning emergence pushed Eriksen out of the team and he had the chance to depart Old Trafford in January.

Galatasaray were reportedly interested, but Eriksen decided to remain. However, his fortunes did not improve and it is now thought that the 32-year-old will depart Man Utd this summer, though he is still under contract for another year.

The former Spurs man is keen to play regularly and his performances for Denmark in the build-up to Euro 2024 will certainly have caught the eye of potential suitors. Eriksen has been strongly linked with a return to ex-club Ajax, but little concrete has developed on that front.

Naturally, he has also been associated with a switch to the Saudi Pro League, but Eriksen has now revealed that he has no intention of heading to the Middle East.

Eriksen rules out Saudi switch

Speaking to Danish outlet Bold, the midfielder said: "I have never received an offer [from Saudi Arabia], and I have made sure that I have never been approached. If my agent has said something, I’ve always said that I don’t even want to know what it is because it’s not something that interests me.”

"I can understand that it can be difficult to say no, and we have also talked about that before – also for the club. I understand that it can be really difficult to say no if you see how much money is involved, but I just try to avoid it completely so that I don’t get to know how much it could be. I’m not going there.”

Eriksen currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €9.6 million, so he could yet fetch Man Utd a little bit of money this summer. It remains to be seen where his future lies, but it is clear that Saudi Arabia is out of the question.
