Manchester United's summer targets are growing increasingly concerned with the time it is taking to make a decision on Erik ten Hag's future, according to a report.

The Dutchman remains in limbo over his future despite the fact that a full week has almost passed since Man Utd played their last game of the season, beating Man City in the FA Cup final.

It had been thought that, despite the result, Ten Hag would be sacked shortly after the match, but that has not materialised. New co-owners INEOS have taken an analytical approach to the club's end-of-season review and a decision shouldn't be long in coming.

Ten Hag limbo worrying targets

At least that is according to the Manchester Evening News, which reports that some of Man Utd's targets are keen on a swift decision. Just like Ten Hag himself, they want to have their futures resolved quickly.

The drawn-out nature of the decision-making process has left many unsure about whether or not the Red Devils will proceed with their interest. But Euro 2024 is just around the corner and many players want to have their next move sorted by June 14 when the tournament in Germany starts.

Man Utd's transfer business in recent years has been hamstrung by long lines of communication and dawdling and INEOS are running the risk of making the same mistake as the previous regime. Some negotiations, it is claimed, have been put on ice as the club chiefs continue to mull over a decision.

Chelsea, by contrast, announced the departure of Mauricio Pochettino shortly after the Premier League season concluded and they have already all but secured their first summer signing in Estevao from Palmeiras, who will join in 2025. Enzo Maresca is expected to be unveiled as their new boss shortly.
