United are reported to be keen to get Maguire off their books due to the fact his contract expires in 2025.

WIth Maguire’s form over the past three years having been so poor, United have no intention to renew his contract and want to earn a transfer fee before his deal expires.

Maguire has been offered to Milan, who are on the lookout for a new central defender as Simon Kjaer has left on a free transfer.

The report adds that it is unclear whether Milan would be interested in taking Man Utd up on their offer as the Rossoneri’s modus operandi in recent years has been to sign younger and cheaper players with the potential to improve and raise their value.

Maguire’s future at Old Trafford is very much in doubt this summer.

He joined from Leicester for a world-record fee for a defender of around €87 million in 2019.

After a decent first two seasons at the club, Maguire has endured three miserable past years for Man Utd, ever since Euro 2020.

In the process, Maguire has become arguably the most mocked player in world football following a series of high-profile mistakes.

After an error-prone 2021-22 season, he finally lost his place in the first team during the 2022-23 campaign as manager Erik ten Hag preferred Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez as his centre back pairing.

Maguire also started the 2023-24 season down the pecking order but an injury crisis saw him return to the fold.

His form improved a touch but United still endured a disastrous season in the Premier League and Champions League, despite winning the FA Cup.

Maguire has been picked in England’s Euro 2024 squad.
