Mourinho ready to sign Greenwood as Barcelona make contact for Man Utd star
Jose Mourinho is ready to save Mason Greenwood from his Manchester United exile by signing the striker for Fenerbahce – but the former Real Madrid boss faces competition from his old rivals Barcelona
Greenwood continues to find himself out of the picture at Man Utd but the once-capped England international is the subject of serious transfer interest from several parties after a successful season on loan at Getafe.
With a year left on his contract at Old Trafford, the Red Devils find themselves in the position of being eager to sell the 22-year-old this summer, and the indications are that there has been plenty of interest.

Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli and Juventus have all been linked with a transfer for Greenwood, but now The Sun indicates that Mourinho is ready to help his former club out by making a move for the forward.
The report claims an unnamed source said: “Fenerbahce are interested in Mason. They know he is a quality player and believe that having Mourinho as manager could be an attractive proposition for him.”
Although Greenwood never played competitively under Mourinho at Man Utd, at 16 years old he was picked to tour the USA with the club’s first team in pre-season.

Barca’s ‘low-cost’ option
Barcelona are another side that continues to monitor the position of Greenwood.
Sport reports that the Man Utd player is considered to be a “low-cost” option for the Blaugrana as they seek to strengthen their forward line next season.
It is stated that Barca have already made some movement to land the Englishman, although it is still unclear just how much financial flexibility they will have in the transfer market.
The Red Devils are said to have asked for €60 million for Greenwood, a price likely to be out of the reach of both Barcelona and Fenerbahce.
