Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Maximilian Kilman as they continue to experience trouble in their pursuit of Jarrad Branthwaite.

Kilman, 27, has been a regular at Molineux since 2020-21 and he played every single minute of Wolves’ Premier League campaign last year.

The former England futsal player was named Wolves captain during the 2022-23 season and has held that position ever since.

Man Utd have been monitoring the Englishman and are considering entering the race to sign Kilman, according to GiveMeSport. The Red Devils are currently searching for a new centre-back and the Wolves man is one of their potential options

However, Erik ten Hag’s side face significant competition from West Ham United. The Hammers have submitted an opening bid of around €30 million (£25m) for Kilman, according to The Telegraph.

Despite this, Wolves are likely to reject this offer. Julen Lopetegui made Kilman captain during his time at Wolves and is eager to sign him following his move to West Ham.

Tottenham Hotspur are also considering a move for Kilman, despite the fact Radu Dragusin arrived from Genoa during the January transfer window.

Man Utd’s Jarrad Branthwaite pursuit

Although Man Utd are interested in Kilman, their priority centre-back target remains Everton’s Branthwaite.

FootballTransfers exclusively revealed that personal terms have been agreed with the Englishman, but Man Utd are yet to agree a fee with Sean Dyche’s side.

Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace), Gleison Bremer (Juventus) and Ronald Araujo (Barcelona) have also been linked with a move to Old Trafford as Ten Hag pursues a replacement for Raphael Varane, who has departed following the expiration of his Man Utd contract.

OGC Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo will not be joining the Red Devils, however, after UEFA blocked a possible transfer due to Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s involvement at both clubs.
