Manchester United greatly appreciate Milos Kerkez, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Bournemouth left-back is coming off a solid first season in the Premier League, having joined the Cherries from Dutch side AZ in the summer. The Hungarian, regarded as one of the best up-and-coming players in his position, certainly lived up to his potential in 2023/24.

This, unsurprisingly, attracted the interest of bigger fish. Indeed, already over the winter, links to clubs like Chelsea and Man Utd emerged. Now, with both known to be looking for a left-back this summer, these associations have once again resurfaced.

In recent days, Man Utd have been very strongly linked with Kerkez again, and according to Fabrizio Romano, there is certainly some merit to the speculation.

Man Utd keen on Kerkez

Man Utd are in the market for a reliable, young left-back after they endured a real crisis in that department in the bygone season. Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia spent most of the campaign on the treatment table and summer loanee Sergio Reguilon was sent back to Spurs in January when Shaw returned, only for him to get injured again.

According to Romano, Man Utd appreciate Kerkez, but he is not their only option for the left-back spot. Additionally, Bournemouth are not looking to sell and would only entertain 'important' offers given that they spent almost €18 million on the 20-year-old.

"There is interest in Milos Kerkez," Romano said on his YouTube channel. "We already said in February, in March that Man Utd are looking at left-backs and Milos Kerkez is one of the players they appreciate for the position. He's not the only one, but he's one of the options they are discussing internally."

"So, Milos Kerkez is appreciated by Man Utd and could be a solution for the summer transfer window. Also, Chelsea have been scouting him, but at the moment, still no direct contact. Let me say on Milos Kerkez that Bournemouth would really ask for big, big money for him."
