Man Utd are set to fight it out with Liverpool in a bid to sign highly-rated Sporting CP defender Gonçalo Inácio this summer.

The talented 22-year-old has become one of Europe's hottest properties, starring in Ruben Amorim's newly-crowned Portuguese champion side.

And according to top transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano, two of the Premier League's biggest clubs are both monitoring his progress.

Per Romano, both United and Liverpool are watching Inácio, who has a release clause worth €60m (around £51m).

Romano goes on to say that Sir Jim Ratcliffe's football department are still to decide exactly how many centre-backs they want to bring in this summer.

Barca confirm Frenkie de Jong PRICE TAG

We could be set for another Frenkie de Jong summer transfer saga after Barcelona confirmed their price tag for the superstar Dutch midfielder.

It's no secret of course that Erik ten Hag has tried on multiple occasions to persuade de Jong to leave Catalonia for M16, but so far no dice.

Any hope that United have of getting Frenkie on the cheap this summer due to Barca's ongoing money worries appear to have been dashed too.

Local media outlet Sport claims that the Camp Nou giants want €100m for one of their star assets.

ten Hag Man Utd summer transfer targets REVEALED

Erik ten Hag has reportedly told new Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe which three players his squad needs as doubts about his own future swirl.

One of Ten Hag's big complaints in the season just finished was that he was rarely able to field his strongest XI, and now he has spoken out about which players would make the team more competitive again.

"We need to get a striker in to work alongside Rasmus Hojlund," he said in quotes relayed by The Daily Express.

"I also hope we manage to get another central midfielder and also a replacement for [Raphael] Varane. Then I think things will look very good for next season - with the caveat that the players are fit and stay fit.

"Then you can start playing towards the top four with such an 11. That gives me hope and is also realistic in my eyes."

United have been linked - as ever - with a host of players heading into the summer transfer window, with the most recent rumours suggesting that Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins, and Chelsea pair Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah could be at the top of their shopping list for strikers, midfielders and defenders respectively.

Ratcliffe has paid £1.03 billion for a 27.7 per cent stake in United that gives him 'sporting control' at the club. Whether he heeds Ten Hag's advice remains to be seen.

Garnacho request 'denied' by Man Utd as Paris dream dies

Man Utd will reportedly deny Alejandro Garnacho's request to feature for Argentina at the Olympic Games in Paris.

The brilliant 19-year-old would love to be apart of his country's Under-23 team, which will bid for gold in the French capital later this summer.

But the bad news is the tournament finishes just days before the start of the 2024-25 Premier League season.

And TYC Sports claims United will block Garnacho's request with the talented teenager a key part of their plans to return to former glories.

Ronaldo instructs Saudis to spend BIG on Casemiro

Cristiano Ronaldo has instructed Al-Nassr to make Casemiro a priority transfer target for the summer, with the Saudi Pro League club ready to splash an incredible €100 million on the Manchester United midfielder.

Casemiro endured a difficult second season at Old Trafford and is now tipped to depart Erik ten Hag’s side in the summer.

The 32-year-old former Real Madrid player has been regularly linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.

According to a report from Marca, Ronaldo has been personally overseeing a bid from Al-Nassr to try to land his former teammates at the Bernabeu, Casemiro, who he also played with briefly at Man Utd, and Nacho Fernandez.

United, meanwhile, are certain to sell if reports from Caught Offside are accurate.

It is claimed that Al-Nassr are ready to offer €90-100 million to sign Casemiro in a deal that would the biggest in Saudi Pro League history.

The current mark stands at the €90m that Al-Hilal spent on Neymar last summer – a deal that has been ill-fated as the Brazilian superstar has spent much of the campaign laid up due to serious injury.

Sancho makes Man Utd demand over Old Trafford return

Jadon Sancho has indicated that he will only go back to Manchester United on one condition as the battle over his future intensifies.

Sancho has made it clear that his ideal solution would be to remain with Borussia Dortmund, where he has spent the second half of the season on loan, reaching the Champions League final with the Bundesliga club.

That possibility, though, looks increasingly distant.

“The situation is pretty clear, he still has a contract at Man United, we have no buy option meaning we need to discuss and negotiate. I don’t know if that will work,” sporting director Sebastian Kehl admitted prior to the Champions League final with a pessimistic tone.

Sancho is, however, prepared to return to Manchester United – but only on the condition that manager Erik ten Hag is no longer at the club., the Daily Mirror reports.

Forson set for Man Utd exit with clubs lining up to sign him

Omari Forson is set to leave Man Utd this summer with a number of clubs reportedly lining up to sign the 19-year-old striker.

The young Londoner made his first-team debut for the Red Devils in February, and has subsequently drawn admiring glances from several interested parties.

According to the don of football transfer reporting Fabrizio Romano, his time at Old Trafford is likely about to end this summer.
