Ornstein provides key update on Chelsea & Man Utd's Olise pursuit
Chelsea and Manchester United have reportedly been told to agree a deal for Michael Olise with Crystal Palace before discussing terms with the Frenchman’s representatives.
Olise, 22, is one of the most sought-after players in the entire Premier League and he is set to be involved in a transfer tug-of-war for the duration of the summer window.
The France U21 international was close to joining Chelsea last year, but he opted to snub the Blues at the last minutes in favour of staying at Crystal Palace.

However, the west London club remain determined to sign him and have named OLise as their priority summer target, according to multiple reports.
In addition, Man Utd are also extremely keen to sign the winger and have been monitoring his progress for several months. Newcastle United and Manchester City also admire Olise, although they appear less likely to sign the Frenchman.
Olise notched 16 goal contributions in just 19 league appearances during the 2023-24 campaign and he has a reported €70 million release clause included in his current contract at Selhurst Park.

Although suitors typically discuss personal terms first when a player has a release clause, interested parties have been advised to strike an agreement with Crystal Palace before attempting to agree terms with Olise and his representatives.
That is according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, who has insisted that “suitors will need to go through the front door” if they want to sign Olise this summer.
Michael Olise to Chelsea or Man Utd?
Olise is set to decide between joining Chelsea or Man Utd during the summer window, and the former are seemingly leading the race as things stand.
According to GIVEMESPORT, Chelsea have now agreed personal terms with Olise ahead of a potential transfer, and are pushing to add the Palace star to Enzo Maresca’s squad.
Chelsea already have Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, Raheem Sterling, Omari Hutchinson and Angelo Gabriel as right winger options, but the Blues appear determined to purchase Olise too.
