The 20-year-old has just one year left on his current Lyon contract and he is expected to leave the club amid significant interest in his services.

Dortmund’s hopes of signing Jadon Sancho on a permanent deal have faded amid Manchester United’s asking price and they have now turned their attention to Cherki.

According to L’Equipe, the Bundesliga club are leading the race to sign Cherki, despite interest from PSG.

Luis Enrique’s side had reportedly agreed a €15 million deal to land the young Frenchman, but Dortmund have hijacked the move and are now close to signing the 20-year-old.

The German team have matched PSG’s bid and are in the driving seat to land his signature after maintaining contact for several months.

Lyon have reportedly offered Cherki a new three-year deal, but he will not extend his stay at the club, as per Get French Football News, as he looks to seal a summer move away.

Cherki scored three goals and provided nine assists in 39 appearances last season, although he only started 19 Ligue 1 games during the entirety of the campaign.

PSG signed Bradley Barcola from Lyon in 2023, but the Parisians appear set to miss out on another young talent from the French giants following Dortmund’s reported hijack.

Chelsea and Man Utd to miss out on Rayan Cherki

Chelsea and Man Utd are among the clubs who have previously been linked with a move for Cherki, although both Premier League giants appear unlikely to pursue the Frenchman this summer.

Enzo Maresca’s side have missed out on Michael Olise, but remain interested in signing a new winger, while Man Utd also want a new attacker following the struggles of Antony.
