The truth behind Real Madrid's transfer 'pact' with Florian Wirtz
Real Madrid do not have a secret 'pact' with Florian Wirtz, according to German media.
The Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid is coming off a stunning season in which he dominated German football and the Europa League. The 21-year-old was arguably the best player in the Bundesliga in the bygone campaign and now he is set to star for Germany at Euro 2024 on home soil.
Probably already the best player at Julian Nagelsmann's disposal, Wirtz looks to only be going from strength to strength, a terrifying prospect considering that he already performs at a very high level. In fact, there is an argument to be made that he should be in Ballon d'Or contention this year, though winning it, of course, is an entirely different matter.

His consistently impressive performances have earned Wirtz links to some of the biggest clubs in European football. His father and agent has already confirmed that he will stay at Bayer 04 for another season, but he could be fair game in 2025 - and he will likely cost €150 million if not more.
Wirtz to Real Madrid?
Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Man City, Barcelona and Real Madrid have all been linked with the attacking midfielder in recent months. Earlier on Monday, MARCA claimed that Los Blancos already have a 'pact' with the player for a transfer next year.
It was asserted that Wirtz and Real Madrid basically have a verbal agreement for the German to join the club in 2025. However, according to Sky Germany, there is absolutely nothing to this rumour and the youngster's future remains completely open.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg said on Sky's Transfer Update YouTube show: "We have the clear information that there is no pact, we have the clear information that there is no pre-agreement with the Wirtz family, the player and Real Madrid. Of course, Real Madrid have a concrete interest for summer 2025, but there is no pre-agreement with Wirtz or his family."
