The BARGAIN England international ready to solve Premier League transfer woes
Multiple Premier League teams in need of a striker may end up considering a move for a forgotten England international that could be available for a bargain fee this summer.
Many sides will be exploring the market to add to their depth up front, with the likes of Manchester United, Newcastle and Chelsea all thought to be looking to strengthen their frontline, however affordable targets have so far proven difficult to find.
But The Telegraph have now reported that Roma could be willing to cash in on Tammy Abraham this summer, with the Serie A side continuing to battle with financial fair play restrictions and acutely aware of the market the former Chelsea striker has in England.
EXCLUSIVE: Tierney targeted by Arsenal’s Premier League rivals
Abraham recently returned to action after ten months out with a cruciate ligament injury and the 26-year-old has two years remaining on his contract in Rome, having signed for the club for €41 million in 2021.
While there will be justified concerns over Abraham’s fitness and whether he is still the same player after his injury, sources in Italy believe the 6 foot 4 inch striker could be available for less than €25m.
Having proven his goalscoring ability at various points and levels across his career, Abraham may provide an affordable and competent option to any side willing to gamble on his fitness to bring the Roma star back to the Premier League.
Which teams could move for Tammy Abraham?
Abraham scored a career-high 27 goals in all competitions during his first year at Roma but struggled with form during his second season, netting just nine times in 54 games, before suffering his knee injury in June last year.
In truth, Abraham’s previous issues with consistency and injuries may count against him even before considering his last two years, particularly given the high wages the England man is thought to be on at Roma.
But the striker’s pedigree could still make him an appealing option, especially if a loan-to-buy deal can be brokered and SciSports – who use data-driven insight to analyse a player – have outlined some of the best Premier League clubs for Abraham to move to this summer.
Aston Villa, where Abraham scored 25 goals on loan in 2018/19, may be the best option for the player due to their qualification for the Champions League, while Unai Emery’s side could also be in the market for a backup striker if Chelsea act on their interest in Jhon Duran.

Brentford and Fulham would represent good options for Abraham to move back to London but neither side are likely to be able to afford his wages, leaving Liverpool and Newcastle as curious options as they also eye potential depth additions to their attack.
Ultimately it remains to be seen whether Roma are willing to conduct a deal that would convince a Premier League side to gamble on Abraham but a return to England could be the best resolution for all parties to get the striker’s career back on track.
