The Premier League outfit are in the race for the teenager but the side will have to contend with several Premier League clubs who are all monitoring his situation at Hertha Berlin, reports CaughtOffside.

The 18-year-old had missed a majority of the last campaign after sustaining an injury to his meniscus during the summer of last year. The injury kept him out of action until February but since then the teenager has come back into the fold at Berlin, being a prominent name on the starting XI.

Maza featured in 13 league games for the club last season, where he netted a goal and assisted two in Bundesliga 2.

And the youngster has done enough to attract interest from notable clubs in the Premier League, with Brighton, West Ham, Brentford, Leicester City, RB Leipzig, Augsburg and rivals Union Berlin all sending representatives out to scout Maza on several occasions this year

West Ham could look to develop talent

For West Ham under new head coach Julen Lopetegui, the player could be an ideal fit for the future, though it’s not thought he would be an immediate starter for the East London club.

Maza’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) is €2 milllon while he is contracted to Berlin until 2026. It’s not clear how much his current side would ask for to let the teenager to leave, but given his potential it could be that they wait until next summer.

The transfer window opened today but deals may have to wait until the Premier League financial year ends at the end of the month - while the star of Euro 2024 may see some deals take a backseat, also.
