Premier League supporters have voiced their displeasure upon learning that Elliot Anderson is set to join Nottingham Forest from Newcastle.

The Magpies have been trying to secure a deal for some of their homegrown talent in order to abide by PSR. If they did not make a certain net profit by July 1 the club would be dealt a possible points deduction.

To avoid such a sanction, Newcastle sold some of their home-grown talent, with Yankuba Minteh heading to Brighton for £33m - while, today a deal was sealed between Forest and the club for 21-year-old Anderson, who heading for a medical at the City Ground over a proposed £35m deal.

But fans are not happy with the deal, saying that it is a ‘loophole’ to avoid PSR and the price appears too inflamed - some have even called the deal ‘dodgy’.

FootballTransfers’ Estimated Transfer Value algorithm (ETV) ranks Anderson at €8.6m, which makes the offer hugely above market value.

Furthermore, Forest goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos appears to be heading the other way, to St James’ Park.
