Arsenal move for 'highly-valued' Premier League star - Ornstein
Arsenal are ready to make a surprise move for Wolves goalkeeper Dan Bentley, with David Ornstein indicating that the 30-year-old potentially becoming the Gunners’ first signing of the summer transfer window.
Bentley only moved to Wolves 18 months ago from Bristol City but now the Premier League runners-up have made contact with the Molineux club to “express an interest” in signing the shot-stopper.
According to the report in The Athletic, Bentley is a “highly valued” member of Wolves squad having made a “strong impression on and off the pitch”, despite making only five Premier League appearances.

As such, Wolves will allow make the goalkeeper to depart easily, despite signing him for just €57,000 (£50,000).
Bentley has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €1.5m, but at his peak, the keeper has been worth €6.8m.
He represents a cheaper option than Espanyol’s Joan Garcia, who has been targeted by the Gunners as an alternative in goal.
FootballTransfers has revealed the 23-year-old, who has a release clause of €25m is of interest to Arsenal. With an ETV of just €0.5m, though, the Gunners will have to negotiate with the Barcelona team if they are to capture him for a reasonable price.

Raya is the only major signing that Mikel Arteta’s side have made during the summer transfer window, though the hunt for a centre-forward continues, with Arsenal having been priced out of deals for the likes of Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres.
