Arsenal star agrees personal terms with new club

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has agreed personal terms with Olympique Marseille, according to French media.

The Gunners homegrown appears to be on the way out. Arsenal, though not at risk of falling foul of financial regulations, are trying to secure some outgoings and raise some 'pure profit' to bolster their squad.

Riccardo Calafiori is on the verge of joining from Bologna in a deal worth around €45 million. Afterwards, Arsenal may look to the midfielder and striker markets for potential reinforcements, though Mikel Arteta is mostly happy with the players he has at his disposal.

Nketiah is one of the main candidates to depart as he would not only free up funds but also squad space, which would enable Arsenal to add a more reliable striker.

Gabriel Jesus, despite fresh Saudi links, is going nowhere, as confirmed by FootballTransfers. Club sources have told us that he is fitter than ever and there is a renewed commitment from both sides to attain the ultimate goal of winning the Premier League next season.

Therefore, if Nketiah stays, he will struggle for minutes next term - and he knows it.

Nketiah agrees Marseille terms

As a result, the 25-year-old is keen on departing and has now agreed personal terms with Olympique Marseille, according to L'Equipe. A few days ago, the Ligue 1 giant's interest was revealed and it seems talks are progressing well.

Marseille had made an initial approach on Saturday and now have received the player's green light regarding a summer transfer. New coach Roberto de Zerbi is determined to overhaul the majority of Marseille's squad and is looking to his former stomping ground, the Premier League, for talent.

De Zerbi was heavily pushing for Marseille to secure the controversial signature of Mason Greenwood and he is now keen to land Nketiah to replace ex-Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has left for promoted Saudi side Al-Qadsiah.

The above-mentioned report insists that Marseille are closing in on securing Nketiah as talks with Arsenal are going well. The English striker could become the second arrival in quick succession following Monday's signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Tottenham.
