“If [Arsenal] get Calafiori, they will have the perfect Premier League defender. He’s the perfect defender for Mikel Arteta, for Pep Guardiola," Di Marzio told Sky Sports. "With Italian defenders you think they only want to defend but, no, he plays for the team and he’s modern.
“He has a high price because Bologna wants €50m + bonus + percentage and Arsenal are a bit under but I think they will do the deal because he wants Arsenal.
“In his mind there is only Arsenal. Even Chelsea tried to get him but the player said ‘no I want Arsenal’ because Arsenal are considered as the perfect step by him and his agents.”

Mikel Arteta provides transfer update
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has revealed why the Gunners have only signed David Raya so far this summer.
The Spaniard told Arsenal’s club media channels: “ I think you can tell everything is a bit slower. I think the market and the new rules in place have caused that clubs are more aware and it’s a bit more delicate to do business in the way we’ve done in the last few seasons.
“We have adapted to that, and we still want to deliver what we want in the transfer window to have a much more competitive team, and improve the squad in every area that we can.”
Calafiori is expected to become Arsenal’s next summer signing, while they remain interested in a new central midfielder and a new winger.
Amadou Onana blow
Arsenal are set to miss out on key transfer target Amadou Onana following reports that Aston Villa have reached an agreement to sign the Everton midfielder for €60m.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein has revealed that Onana is close to joining Unai Emery’s side on a long-term contract, with Arsenal on the verge of missing out.
The Gunners have been linked with the Belgian for several months, but a move to the Emirates Stadium is extremely unlikely as Villa close in.
Arsenal submit offer
Arsenal have lodged a €407,000 bid for Ajax goalkeeper Tommy Setford, according to Telegraaf.
The 18-year-old reportedly wants to join the Gunners and with only one year left on his current contract, he could leave Ajax this summer.
Arsenal have also been linked with Dan Bentley and Joan Garcia as they look to sign a new ‘keeper.
