The latest Arsenal football transfer news updates, with the hottest updates on all the potential new signings and sales at the Emirates, including Riccardo Calafiori, Nico Williams and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Kvaratskhelia tipped for Arsenal move

A move to Arsenal or Manchester City would be 'the best solution' for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia if he were to leave Napoli, his former coach Gela Davitadze exclusively told FootballTransfers.

“My big respect for Napoli. But I think he wants to move,” Davitadze explained to Football Transfers. “For this situation, if he goes to the Premier League, it would be the best solution for him. A team like Manchester City or Arsenal would be very suitable."

Riccardo Calafiori latest

Riccardo Calafiori is edging closer to a move to the Emirates. The Italian defender has made it clear his preferred destination is Arsenal and it seems very likely that he will be joining Mikel Arteta's side this summer.

But the deal is not wrapped up just yet for the impressive Italian defender. Arsenal still have a few things to sort out before they can complete the deal for Calafiori.

According to Calcio Mercato the negotiations between Arsenal and Bologna are complex in order to agree a transfer fee.

With Basel having the right to 40% of the sale, Bologna will hold out for €50m asking price, which Arsenal are yet to match.

The deal will only be completed if and when Arsenal match Bologna's asking price, according to the report.

Nico Williams hint?

Athletic Club presented their new kit on Wednesday, but there was one notable face missing from the advertising: Nico Williams, their undisputed star man.

This has set tongues wagging. The Spain Euro 2024 star has been linked to a string of major clubs over the course of recent months, with Chelsea, Barcelona and, of course, Arsenal among his potential destinations.

His absence from the advertising campaign of Athletic would seem to suggest that the club expect someone to meet his €58 million release clause, and while Barcelona are favourites, Arsenal are certainly still in the race as the Blaugrana struggle to raise funds to reach that fee.

Arsenal interest confirmed in Yilmaz

Baris Alper Yilmaz was one of the stars of Euro 2024 for Turkey, and he has attracted attention from Europe's top clubs.

Capable of playing on either flank as well as a No.9 and even as a full-back, Yilmaz's tactical flexibility would make him a huge asset for any team.

He's now reportedly on the radar of Liverpool and Arsenal, with both clubs' interest confirmed by Sedat Tahiroglu, who is the president of Ankara Keciorengucu - Yilmaz's former club.

Speaking with Aksam, Tahiroglu said: “We have 20 per cent of Baris Alper Yilmaz’s share but Galatasaray have not requested a meeting with us on this issue.

“I hear Liverpool and Arsenal want him but I know Nuri Sahin definitely wants him. I don’t think the price will be €50m (£42.5m). He can be sold for around €30m (£25m).

“The path needs to be paved for young people for Turkish football. Hopefully, he will make a decision that is good for him. The money is not important. The important thing is for Baris Alper to go to a team where he will be successful because he will be the face of Turkey.”

Arteta must sell players to afford BOTH Olmo and Calafiori

The transfer market at the moment is a tough one to navigate around, even for Premier League clubs due Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

Arsenal are no exception. Even though Mikel Arteta will be keen to bolster his options and add more strength in depth to his squad, the Gunners will have to sell first before they can go on a spending spree.

That is according to Football.London, who claim Arsenal will have to offload players in order to be able to afford signing both Riccardo Calafiori and Dani Olmo - who are both on manager Mikel Arteta's transfer shortlist.

The site lists Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith-Rowe, Aaron Ramsdale and Jakub Kiwior as the potential transfer casualties who could depart the club.

The former of the quartet could end up in France according to another report.

Eddie Nketiah to Marseille

Eddie Nketiah could finally be moving onto pastures new from Arsenal this summer on a permanent basis.

The 25-year-old has struggled to break into Mikel Arteta's plans and he is at an age where he will want to be playing regular first-team football - especially if he is serious about getting back into Gareth Southgate's England squad.

Now according to FootMercato, Nketiah could be moving onto France where Ligue 1 outfit Marseille are interested in his services.

Marseille are reportedly open to giving a contract extension to Nketiah's former teammate, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, whose current deal expired on 30 June. And the club is also keen to bring in Nketiah to supplement Roberto De Zerbi's offensive options.

The only obstacle in the way will be to agree a transfer fee with Arsenal for Nketiah's services with the player having an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €14.3 million.
