Enzo Fernandez has escaped punishment from Chelsea for his part in the Argentina racism scandal.

Enzo hit the headlines last week after he and a group of Argentina teammates were filmed celebrating their Copa America victory by chanting a derogatory song about the France national team.

The song in question has been called racist and transphobic as it contains a number of references to the African heritage of France players, as well a transgender insult.

Enzo has since apologised but his behaviour has caused problems in the Chelsea dressing room.

Many of Enzo’s Chelsea teammates are furious with the Argentine for his behaviour, with Wesley Fofana publicly slamming the Argentine and a number of the Blues’ French and African players unfollowing Enzo on social media.

FootballTransfers exclusively revealed that certain members of the Blues’ squad remain furious with the 23-year-old.

Chelsea confirmed that they had opened an internal investigation into Enzo, which meant he faced a possible punishment.

But according to multiple reports, Chelsea will not be punishing Enzo for behaviour.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca as much as confirmed this when asked about the case.

“We all feel very comfortable,” he said.

“Enzo is back, he had a chat with all of us to clarify there were not any bad intentions. The lads all accepted.

“Since last night, everything was like before. It’s all normal. All good”

It remains to be seen just how Enzo fits in with his teammates over the coming weeks but as of now Chelsea are understood to have no plans to sell him.

There had been reports that Chelsea may need to bring in a new central midfielder in case Enzo was not fully accepted by some members of the squad.

Former Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot has been heavily linked in recent days. The France international left Juve at the start of this month after his contract in Turin expired.

There is also interest in Rabiot from Man Utd and Real Madrid.
