Enzo Maresca DESPERATELY wanted €47m transfer before Chelsea Filip Jorgensen deal
After arriving at Chelsea this summer, one of Enzo Maresca's top priorities has been to bring in a goalkeeper in order to bolster his options.
Chelsea had several keepers on their radar with the list being whittled down to just one candidate at the moment - as the Blues look to close a deal for Filip Jorgensen.
However, while Jorgensen is an excellent goalkeeper, Maresca initially did not have his eyes set on the Villareal man. Instead, he wanted to bring in another Danish player with whom he worked at Leicester City in Mads Hermansen.

That's according to Bold's report in Denmark who claim Maresca made Hermansen his top target and wanted Chelsea to conclude a deal for the 24 year old.
Ultimately, Chelsea though were priced out by Leicester City's €47m valuation and thus took their search elsewhere with Jorgensen being the winning candidate.
It promises to be an interesting move. Jorgensen is regarded as one of the best young goalkeepers in Europe's top five leagues and performed really well in La Liga last season.
Jorgensen to Chelsea Chelsea
Jorgensen has the potential to be an excellent addition to Maresca's side while also being a much more affordable in comparison to Hermansen. Chelsea will pay around half of what Leicester demanded for their goalkeeper, with their price being €24.5m.
Jorgensen is expected to undergo his medical at Stamford Bridge today before putting pen to paper on his new deal.

The expectation is that he will become Chelsea's number one goalkeeper with the Blues set to offload the likes of Kepa and are even willing to listen to offers for Đorđe Petrović, who put in a string of impressive performances towards the end of last season.
With so much still to resolve and Maresca possessing a hefty squad, there is expected to be plenty of deals left for Chelsea to do from now until the end of the transfer window.
