FootballTransfers understands that Tottenham have a very good relationship with Federico Chiesa's representatives, though a deal won't be easy to pull off.

The Italian winger is in the news once more, having been made available for transfer by Juventus following the arrival of Thiago Motta as head coach.

The 41-year-old tactician has doubts about Chiesa's suitability for the system he is trying to implement, resulting in the Bianconeri sounding out the market for suitors.

Though the 26-year-old has struggled to reach his previous heights following an ACL injury, we can confirm that Chiesa still enjoys a good reputation with club chiefs around Europe and beyond.

FootballTransfers understands that Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle, Tottenham and Saudi clubs all hold a credible interest in the Italian winger, who is said to be available for around €25 million to €30m.

Spurs, in particular, have been heavily linked with Chiesa in recent times - and for good reason, we hear.

Spurs hold advantage but deal difficult

Tottenham have admired the player for a long time and were interested in him in January, though nothing concrete ultimately materialised at the time.

This time around it could be different, however. We understand that Spurs have an excellent relationship with Chiesa's representatives and there is also the presence of Fabio Paratici that could work in the club's favour.

Paratici was the man who signed Chiesa for Juventus and, though he resigned from his role as Spurs director in April 2023, he continues to be in contact with the club's recruitment department.

The 52-year-old advised the north London side during last summer's transfer window and head coach Ange Postecoglou revealed in January that "every now and then we'll exchange messages or calls."

Paratici reportedly still has a healthy relationship with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and we have had it confirmed to us that he remains a figure with some influence behind the scenes.

Given the interest from elsewhere, sources state that it will not be an easy deal for Tottenham. Furthermore, the idea that they are already 'close' to snapping up Chiesa has been played down.

That is because the situation is currently a bit of a standoff and has been described to us as a 'chess game.' Chiesa's suitors are waiting for someone to make the first move, but so far, no offers have materialised.

Juventus, for their part, are confident that they can trigger a bidding war, knowing full well that there are a host of sides interested in securing the Italy international's signature.
