Fabrizio Romano Transfer News: Man Utd DOUBLE signing, Chelsea’s next DEAL, Nico Williams LATEST
Fabrizio Romano has given an update on the latest transfer news, with updates from Chelsea, Manchester United and Barcelona, including big names like Filip Jorgensen, Xavi Simons and Noussair Mazraoui.
Jorgensen set for Chelsea
Chelsea are on the verge of signing Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal to challenge Robert Sanchez for the No.1 jersey at Stamford Bridge.
Romano reports via YouTube: “The next signing for Chelsea will be Filip Jorgensen, the Danish goalkeeper of Villarreal. The agreement is being completed as I record this video on Friday night. Chelsea are finalising the agreement between the clubs for a €25 million package.

“It’s a long-term contract for the player, who has already accepted, and there are some small details of the team to be finalised – payment terms, that type of thing – and then he will be a here we go.
“Chelsea will have a new goalkeeper. Djordje Petrovic is expected to leave. It will be Jorgensen against Robert Sanchez to fight for the position of Chelsea’s first goalkeeper.”
Barcelona still confident on Nico Williams
Although there has been no concrete movement on the case of Athletic Club winger Nico Williams in recent days, Romano says Barcelona are still confident of winning the race for the Spain star.
Meanwhile, Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG are watching on in case the Camp Nou side slip.
“There are a lot of important moves at Barcelona but let me clarify some things,” Romano said.
“On Nico Williams, when I know something I’ll let you know. We’re all waiting – even fans of other clubs – but Barcelona remain extremely confident on the deal for Nico Williams, but the crucial part is on the player. They’re waiting on Nico giving the final green light. They’re giving priority to the signing of Nico Williams.
“So Barca are not discussing in advanced talks with any other deal. It means that Dani Olmo – yes, they like him and they’ve had talk with his agents – but they’re not going to close a deal until they’ve learned the final position of Nico Williams.
“Athletic still have hope of keeping Nico, while Chelsea, Arsenal and PSG, who have been interested in recent days, all of them are waiting to understand what Nico decides to do.”
Xavi Simons decision made
Romano says that PSG attacker Xavi Simons has made his decision about his future, with just formalities to take place.
“Xavi Simons has decided to return to RB Leipzig. It’s not fully done yet. There are still formal steps with PSG, but the CEO of the club, Oliver Mintzlaff, is working and is confident it will get done in the next few days. So Xavi Simons back to Leipzig,” he said.
“Bayern are there until the end, waiting for a last-minute surprise. Leipzig are extremely confident.”
What’s next at Man Utd? Romano on double deal
And finally, Romano gave a lengthy explanation of where Man Utd are with two defensive signings.
“Manchester United have obviously signed Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee. What’s next? The situation of the right-back,” he said.
“Noussair Mazraoui has given total priority to Man Utd. He would love to go to Man Utd, he would love to be reunited with Erik ten Hag, so Mazraoui is waiting for United. The agreement on personal terms will not be a problem.
“The crucial step will be what happens with Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Man Utd will only sign a new right-back if he leaves. He’s got a year left on his contract.
“There’s interest from Inter, that’s true, but he’s also prepared to wait in the next weeks to see what opportunities there are. Maybe West Ham? Mazraoui will not be going there. The deal was advanced between clubs, but not with the player, who was giving clear priority for Man Utd.
“The relationship between the agents of West Ham and Wan-Bissaka are excellent, but it depends on the player.
“Denzel Dumfries is appreciated but at the moment, the idea of a swap deal for Wan-Bissaka has only been discussed by intermediaries. Some are trying to present the deal to the clubs, but it’s still not in its advanced stages.
“The third right-back considered by Man Utd – they’ve had some contact with the agent of the players – is Monaco’s Vanderson. He’s considered too expensive, Monaco want important money for him. He’s on the list of several clubs. Tottenham have met his agents, Man Utd met his agents – the interest in Vanderson is concrete.”
De Ligt a matter of time
Romano seems to indicate that Man Utd’s deal for Matthijs de Ligt is just a matter of time.
“The agent of Mazraoui, Rafaela Pimenta, is the same important agent of Matthijs de Ligt. What does it mean? The conversation between Man Utd and the agent of Mazraoui is at the same time the same conversation they’re having with De Ligt’s agent,” the football transfer news expert says.
“He’s already agreed to personal terms with Man Utd and De Ligt is just waiting for them to complete some outgoings in order to accelerate the deal.
“Bayern are insisting on €50 million guaranteed for De Ligt while Man Utd are willing to offer something like €35m plus add ons. So we have to see what happens.
“Jonathan Tah of Bayer Leverkusen is still hoping to go to Bayern but it depends on the exit of a centre-back. Many things will depend on De Ligt, but conversations are positive between Rafaela Pimenta.”
