How Graham Potter will save Chelsea a FORTUNE by taking England job
For Chelsea fans, Graham Potter is very much a name from the past. Since his dismissal at the club, the Blues have fired another manager in Mauricio Pochettino and appointed their third coach in just over a year with the arrival of Enzo Maresca.
But while Potter's name has not been heard too much around Stamford Bridge over the last year, his presence is still felt in the club's pockets.
According to a report by the Daily Mail, Chelsea agreed to pay Potter's £200k salary per week for the next 18 months after he was sacked by the club back in April 2023.

That means he is still due to be paid by Chelsea until October. However, if he accepts a new position, the pay will be deducted from the fee still outstanding to Potter.
And that could be a strong possibility. Potter has been linked with various clubs since his dismissal, but he is yet to accept an offer.
However, after Gareth Southgate resigned from his position as England manager, the FA are now looking to fill the vacant role left behind by his departure.
England want Graham Potter?
One of the favourite candidates to succeed Southgate is Potter. He is an English coach who is well respected within the game, has experience playing abroad and has also achieved success in the Premier League with Brighton.
Potter's offensive style of play is regarded as slightly more positive than Southgate's more conservative and measured approach.

He's already got experience working with some of the players in the England national team set-up and is viewed as an ideal candidate for the job alongside Eddie Howe and another former Chelsea manager in Mauricio Pochettino.
Chelsea will be hoping it will be Potter who wins the managerial race and in turn saves the club a major fortune that will go far in reducing their expenditure and help them comply with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
