Man Utd 'fearful' of Fernandes exit amid MEGA summer offer

Manchester United are fearful of losing Bruno Fernandes this summer amid significant interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Fernandes, 29, has reportedly received a mega offer from a Saudi Arabian club, one that has been described as “difficult to refuse” by Saudi Arabian outlet Al-Riyadhiyah.

The Red Devils captain is currently on international duty with Portugal at Euro 2024, but he is set to be involved in a transfer tug-of-war once his the tournament ends.

Al-Riyadhiyah’s report states that one unnamed Saudi Pro League club is currently in negotiations with Fernandes and Man Utd are concerned by the offer their club captain has received.

They are reportedly hopeful that Fernandes will reject interest from the Middle East, but nothing is guaranteed as things stand.

The ex-Sporting CP star notched 28 goal contributions in 48 Man Utd appearances last season, and he notably provided an assist during the Red Devils’ FA Cup final win over Manchester City.

The Portuguese international has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €62.1 million, while his current contract at Old Trafford runs until 2026.

In May, Fernandes told The Players Tribune: “I love to step out at Old Trafford more than anything in the world. I don’t want to leave. This has always been my ultimate dream.

“I just want my expectations to fit with the expectations of the club. If you go talk to any fan, they will tell you the same thing. We want to compete for the league. We want to be playing Champions League football. We want to be in cup finals.
