EXCLUSIVE: Man Utd face huge competition in race for Manuel Ugarte
Manchester United face significant competition in the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte, FootballTransfers understands.
The 23-year-old joined PSG from Sporting CP for €60 million last summer, and we have been told that while a summer exit is not guaranteed, it is a possibility.
Man Utd are one of the leading contenders to sign Ugarte as they look to bolster Erik ten Hag’s squad ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

Sofyan Amrabat has returned to Fiorentina following his loan spell with the Red Devils, while we understand that Casemiro is wanted by numerous Saudi Pro League clubs.
As a result, signing a new central midfielder is one of Man Utd’s priorities this summer and Ugarte is a key target.
However, sources have told us that Ten Hag’s side face competition from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, who are also interested in the Uruguay international as they look to sign a new defensive midfielder.

The Bavarians are hoping to purchase a number six this summer and Ugarte is one of their targets, alongside Fulham’s Joao Palhinha.
Ugarte made 37 appearances during his debut campaign at the Parc des Princes, but he was an unused substitute in four of PSG’s six Champions League knockout matches.
The PSG midfielder is currently on international duty at the Copa America and he started all three group stage matches as Uruguay topped Group C.
Marcus Rashford will not join PSG
In addition, we have been informed that speculation linking Marcus Rashford to PSG is completely wide of the mark.
The 26-year-old has been touted to leave Man Utd after a below par 2023-24 season, however a move to the French capital has been ruled out.
Rashford has four years left on his current contract at Old Trafford, having signed a new deal in 2023.
