Man Utd to sell Mason Greenwood by end of THIS week
Manchester United are planning to sell Mason Greenwood by the end of this week.
That is according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that United don’t want Greenwood around the club when pre-season training begins.
United start pre-season training on July 8 and don’t want the circus that having Greenwood still at the club will bring as they prepare for the 2024-25 campaign.

Gazzetta further adds that Lazio are hoping to take advantage of this by pressuring United into selling for less than their asking price.
Lazio have bid €20 million plus a 50% sell-on clause for Greenwood. United have rejected this and are asking for €35m.
But with no other clubs bidding for Greenwood, Lazio are set to send in the same offer again with a deadline of July 10 to accept or end all negotiations for good.
Lazio hope that United’s desire to offload Greenwood immediately will force them into accepting their offer.
Lazio are in the market for a new winger after losing Felipe Anderson on a free transfer. They are desperate to bring in a big name after a disastrous 2023-24 season which culminated in Igor Tudor (who only replaced Maurizio Sarri as coach in March) quitting the club at the end of the season after a fallout with president Claudio Lotito.

Greenwood has interest from a number of European clubs, including Juventus, Valencia and Barcelona but none of these have sent in official offers.
Greenwood to leave Man Utd?
Greenwood is certain to leave Manchester United this summer.
He joined Getafe on loan last summer after Manchester United concluded their investigation into the criminal charges he was facing last year, which have since been dropped.
United announced that Greenwood would look to continue his career away from Old Trafford, having not played a game since January 2022 following his arrest by police.

Greenwood impressed for Getafe. He scored 10 goals and got seven assists in 36 games in all competitions.
Sentiment among fans and the public in England is still negative towards Greenwood, making it easier for him to continue his career outside of the country.
This is an opinion that is shared by Greenwood himself, who wants to play in a foreign league.
