The Hojlund twins are reunited after just a few days apart. Man Utd superstar Rasmus Hojlund isn't the only footballer in a family that is crazy about the beautiful game.

His brothers Emil and Oscar are also professional footballers and all three used to be on the books at FC Copenhagen. After a while, Rasmus departed for Sturm Graz and then Atalanta before joining Man Utd for an eye-watering €74 million last summer.

A year later, his brothers have also completed two big moves, albeit not quite for fees in the same exorbitant ballpark. Last week, 19-year-old Oscar moved to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt for a bargain €1.4m.

Now, the midfielder has been reunited with twin Emil in Germany.

Emil Hojlund joins Schalke

Young striker Emil Hojlund has completed a transfer to Schalke 04, the club have announced after acting swiftly to secure his services. Fabrizio Romano initially revealed the negotiations and the deal was quickly completed.

It is a very surprising development as Emil had previously been linked with a switch to Champions League-bound VfB Stuttgart. Instead, he will now play for fallen giants Schalke in the second-tier 2. Bundesliga as they embark on another attempt at bouncing back from relegation in 2023.

Ahead of the summer, Schalke managed to secure the services of very highly-rated recruitment guru Ben Manga and his impact is being felt instantly, with the cash-strapped Royal Blues now having managed to snap up several high-potential youth internationals from Germany, Belgium and Argentina.

Hojlund has joined the Gelsenkirchen-based side for just around €300,000, according to Sky Germany. The attacker has signed a contract until 2028. Hojlund decided to snub the Danish U19 national team ahead of their Euros campaign to complete his transfer.
