Man Utd Transfer News Today: Arsenal WONDERKID raid, Olmo HIJACK, Simons HINT
FootballTransfers runs through the latest Manchester United football transfer news updates, including the latest on Chido Obi-Martin, Dani Olmo, Xavi Simons and Manuel Ugarte.
Man Utd trying to pinch Arsenal wonderkid
The 16-year-old was prolific last term for Arsenal's U18 side but faces a major decision this summer as he finds himself out of contract.
Ornstein reports that Chido will leave the Gunners and has several interesting proposals.
Red Devils aim for Olmo hijack
Man Utd are one of the clubs aiming to pinch Dani Olmo should Barcelona fail to land the RB Leipzig star, Mundo Deportivo reports.
One of Spain's Euro 2024 heroes, Olmo has rapidly become a priority for Barca, who have all-but agreed a six-year deal with the player.
There could be difficulty, however, in raising the funds to match his €60 million release clause, particularly given that the Blaugrana have failed to find a similar amount to sign Nico Williams as yet.
Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Atletico Madrid are all credited with an interest, too.
Xavi Simons in transfer hint
PSG star Xavi Simons has dropped a cryptic transfer hint that suggests that he could yet join Man Utd this summer.
Man Utd remain a major contender to sign Simons, according to L’Equipe, which states that Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig are ahead of them in the race.
However, the 21-year-old has dropped a cryptic hint on his social media that it could soon be all change in his career.
Simons posted the Uno ‘Reverse’ card, suggesting that there could be a dramatic announcement soon – and one that is not expected.
EXCLUSIVE - Manuel Ugarte update
Manchester United may struggle to purchase Manuel Ugarte on a permanent deal should Casemiro fail to make an exit to the Saudi Pro League, FootballTransfers has been told.
The Brazil international is on a substantial salary of £350,000 a week and the only clubs looking to match that are in the Middle East. He will, therefore, not push for a transfer away from Old Trafford unless a substantial offer from Saudi Arabia materialises.

Despite this, we are told Man Utd are keen to offload both Casemiro and fellow midfielder Scott McTominay as part of a squad overhaul.
After signing Leny Yoro, the club’s immediate focus has shifted to securing the services of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
Club sources at the French club now value the Uruguay international at €70 million, while he has agreed personal terms with Man Utd.

Leny Yoro to trigger domino effect
Leny Yoro has officially joined Man Utd for €62m, but his arrival is set to lead to a number of departures.
Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof could both be sold, while offers will be considered for Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Scott McTominay, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Jadon Sancho, according to The Mirror.
Mason Greenwood and Donny van de Beek are among the players to have already left Old Trafford this summer, but Man Utd are willing to sell the aforementioned seven players if a reasonable offer is lodged.
Thierry Henry on Leny Yoro
Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has hinted that Man Utd must be patient with Yoro following his move to Old Trafford.
In March, the former Gunners forward said (as per Metro): “We often talk about Leny. He is having an exemplary start to his career.
“To establish himself in Lille as he is doing [is impressive]. He always has some young reactions, and that is completely normal. It comes slowly, you make mistakes and sometimes you get embarrassed.
“[But] he goes on to play one match after another, he starts quite often and quite often is good. It’s really good for him. He is professional, he’s a good guy, well-educated.
“I like him. He performs well. Afterwards, there are always things to refine, but that’s completely normal. Frankly, it’s really a more than positive progression.”
Chelsea want Andreas Pereira
Chelsea will target former Man Utd midfielder Andreas Pereira if Conor Gallagher leaves the club this summer, according to reports in Brazil.
Gallagher, 24, has just one year left on his current contract at Stamford Bridge and he is expected to depart before the 2024 summer transfer window ends.
According to Brazilian outlet Globo, Chelsea are hoping to sign Fulham midfielder Pereira as Gallagher’s replacement.
The Stamford Bridge outfit are reportedly in contact with his agent Kia Joorabchian, who has confirmed Chelsea’s interest in his client.
Chelsea are prepared to pay up to €40 million for Pereira, but a move will only happen if Gallagher is sold.
