Manchester United are finally ramping up their summer business. Due to uncertainty surrounding the future of Erik ten Hag, the Red Devils were slow to get going after the 2023/24 season, but the transfer market has now fully kicked off for them too.

On Sunday, Man Utd announced the acquisition of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna for €42.5 million. The striker arrived off the back of a solid Serie A campaign and has signed a contract until 2029 with the option for a further year.

Zirkzee is the first of several high-profile incomings, with Man Utd also in advanced talks with Bayern Munich over Matthijs de Ligt. A new midfielder, with Manuel Ugarte one of the top options, Jarrad Branthwaite, a left-back and potentially another striker are still items on the agenda.

However, it is not all about incomings at Old Trafford. United need to make some sales to raise funds for all this lavish spending and they are now on the verge of boosting their transfer kitty.

Kambwala to Villarreal

According to Fabrizio Romano, defensive prospect Willy Kambwala will become a Villarreal player today. The 19-year-old centre-back completed his medical on Sunday and will sign his contract with the LaLiga side on Monday.

Man Utd will land as much as €10 million from Kambwala's sale. The Red Devils have also managed to secure a sell-on percentage and a buy-back clause, meaning that they will still be able to control the Frenchman's destiny in some way going forward.

Kambwala will become the third sale of the summer by Man Utd, with Alvaro Fernandez having signed for Benfica for €6m after a six-month loan and Donny van de Beek having joined Girona for €500,000, with the deal expected to reach €4m-€5m in add-ons and potentially rising to as high as €14m.
