Arsenal are keen to bring in another attacker to the club this summer with Mikel Arteta considering his options in that department.

The Gunners performed tremendously last season, competing with Manchester City in the Premier League title race right until the very end.

However, if there was one area that may have cost them the league it was probably the club's lack of depth in attack.

Arteta doesn't quite possess a clinical attacker who is capable of finishing off chances week in week out. He needs more ammunition in his attack in order to be able to compete with Manchester City.

And this summer, the priority has been very much on bringing in that attacker as well as reinforcing his defence.

One player who was reportedly on Arteta's radar is Turkish wonderkid, Oguz Aydin.

Oguz Aydin on Arsenal's transfer radar

According to Turkish president of Bucaspor, Cihan Aktas speaking to Hurriyet, Aydin was on Arsenal's radar after having caught Arteta's eye during last season's campaign.

The right-winger made 20 goal contributions in 35 games in Turkey's top flight last season. Only 23 years old, he is regarded as an exciting prospect in his homeland.

However, instead of moving to the Emirates, Aydin rejected Arsenal's proposal. He's decided to sign for Fenerbahce and link up with Jose Mourinho instead.

“Oguz is a player who comes on stage at the most unexpected moments and wins matches,” Aktas told Hurriyet. “Two Italian clubs and Arsenal were after him. Galatasaray also wanted him but when Ali Koc stepped in, he became a Fenerbahce fan.”

Aydin will now look to prove himself under Mourinho. Meanwhile for Arsenal and Arteta the search will continue as they look to find an ideal attacking profile in the current market.

There is no denying the club are keen to bolster Arteta's options and their activity is one to keep a close eye on in the coming weeks ahead.
