Revealed: PSG to offer €75m for Liverpool and Man Utd target
It's no secret that both Manchester United and Liverpool want to add a holding midfielder to their ranks this summer.
Liverpool had long been seeking a suitable replacement for Fabinho and struggled to find a long-term solution last summer having to settle instead for Wataru Endo.
Manchester United on the other hand have brought in Casemiro, who seemed at the peak of his powers at the time. However, his ability has waned and last season there were clear signs of decline.

Both Liverpool and Manchester United are in need of a more long-term solution for the position.
However, the best candidate for that role might just be about to be snatched up by Paris Saint Germain.
According to Record in Portugal, PSG are about to make a €75m offer for Benfica midfielder Joao Neves, who has been catching the eye both in Portugal and at Euro 2024 lately.
Neves is considered one of the best young holding midfielders in the world and the report claims PSG are keen to bring him to the club this summer - with Manuel Ugarte having struggled to settle at the French club in the same role after arriving from PSG last summer.

But if they were to secure his services, it would be a major blow to both Man United's and Liverpool's pursuit of a holding midfielder with both sides having been linked with Neves in the past.
There are few players of Neves' ilk out there on the market and at €75m, he might be an expensive investment. However, it's currently a reasonable market price considering what some of his age and positional peers have went for in the last few windows - including Premier League record transfer, Moises Caicedo.
Whether Liverpool or Man United will respond in light of PSG's offer and follow up their interest remains to be seen.
