Ederson, who has won six Premier League titles for Pep Guardiola's side, is intrigued by a move to Saudi Arabia.

One reason for this is surely the lucrative contract that he would be offered to go there.

Indeed, it has been reported that Al-Ittihad would pay the 30-year-old an astonishing €25 million per year.

City have set an asking price of €50m for Ederson and, such is the wealth in the Saudi Pro League, that it should not be a stumbling block.

However, one of the other factors in Ederson's decision-making is bizarre, to say the least.

The shocking reason Ederson wants to leave Man City

The Athletic are reporting that part of the reason for Ederson's disgruntlement at Man City is the credit that Stefan Ortega received a few months ago.

The Brazilian suffered an injury towards the end of the campaign which meant that Ortega was handed the chance to impress.

And, he arguably made the most important save of the season in stopping Tottenham forward Heung-Min Son's shot.

Ortega received heaps of praise on the back of his excellent performance, with a number of fans taking it a step further.

Some suggested that Ederson is not capable of making the stop that Ortega did, which has led to him feeling underappreciated.
