How Arsenal will line up in 2024-25

Arsenal have one of the best goalkeeper duos in the Premier League, although David Raya is firmly the club’s number one, while Aaron Ramsdale could push to leave if he’s subjected to another season of playing second fiddle.

In regards to the backline, the Gunners are also extremely well-stocked.

Benjamin White, William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are likely to continue as first-choice after a stellar 2023-24 campaign, and Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori will fight for the left-back berth.

The latter may just win that battle, but they will both play significant minutes this season. Meanwhile, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jakub Kiwor can also play at left-back.

In midfield, the arrival of Mikel Merino hasn't yet been confirmed, although he is expected to join the club. Kai Havertz will therefore play in midfield alongside Martin Odegaard until the Spaniard joins, while Declan Rice will be shifted back into a more defensive role. Thomas Partey and Jorginho will act as trusted back-ups.

Bukayo Saka is a nailed-on starter on the right flank and Gabriel Martinelli may just edge out Leandro Trossard on the left.

Havertz is likely to start ahead of Gabriel Jesus up front once Merino arrives, but the Brazilian will get the nod at the beginning of the campaign.
