Following the arrival of Riccardo Calafiori, the focus of Arsenal's summer business has now shifted mainly towards outgoings.

The Gunners do remain in talks with Real Sociedad regarding the potential transfer of Mikel Merino as Mikel Arteta remains keen on bolstering his midfield options.

Negotiations over the Spain star have slowed down in recent days, though all parties still expect to eventually strike a deal. In the meantime, Arsenal are working on raising some funds via outgoings.

Nketiah deal collapses for good

However, one player who won't be going anywhere, at least for now, is Eddie Nketiah. The striker's proposed move to Olympique de Marseille is now completely dead in the water.

Last week, Arsenal had softened their stance on the 25-year-old, going so far as to present a loan offer with an option to buy after rejecting previous bids from Marseille.

The Ligue 1 side, however, showed themselves unwilling to match Arsenal's €30 million demand and instead launched another offensive for Lens star Elye Wahi after two unsuccessful bids last week.

According to Fabrizio Romano, they have now been successful in their pursuit of Wahi and have informed Arsenal that a deal for Nketiah is '100 per cent off.'

Exclusive: Tomiyasu could leave

FootballTransfers understands that Arsenal are open to late offers for versatile defender Takehiro Tomiyasu, who is currently nursing yet another injury.

The Japan international has struggled to consistently feature for Arsenal due to persistent fitness issues and the Gunners would consider a sale if a suitable bid were to arrive before the end of the window.

The arrival of Calafiori has given Arsenal a wealth of defensive options and they are willing to cut one of their stars loose.

Kiwior in Juventus links

Alternatively, Jakub Kiwior could depart the Emirates this summer. Strongly linked with an exit for weeks, the Pole is now being associated with Juventus.

Italian media reports that the Bianconeri are eyeing up Kiwior after missing out on Jean-Clair Todibo to West Ham. In fact, it is claimed that he has become a 'key' target for the Old Lady.

Kiwior is the player who has been most prominently linked with a departure following the signing of Calafiori, who plays in the same positions on the left side of the defence. Ironically, Calafiori was Juventus' initial top defensive target.

Another youngster leaves

Arsenal's academy exodus continues following the exits of Amario Cozier-Duberry (Brighton), Reuell Walters (Luton) and Chido Obi-Martin (Man Utd).

Brooke Norton-Cuffy is set to join Serie A side Genoa for €2m upfront and a potential further €2m in add-ons, while the Gunners will also retain a sell-on percentage.

The 20-year-old also had suitors in Ligue 1, the Bundesliga and other clubs in the UK, according to Fabrizio Romano.
