Marseille make Nketiah their priority

Marseille still consider Eddie Nketiah their priority this summer, according to L'Equipe.

On Saturday there were reports that Marseille may end their chase for Nketiah, having had a number of offers rejected by Arsenal for the striker.

But L'Equipe say the transfer is still on, with Arsenal needing to raise money from a sale and with Nketiah not part of Mikel Arteta's plans.

Indeed, Arteta wants to sell Nketiah to raise the money needed to buy Joao Pedro from Brighton, who are asking for €45m for the Brazilian.

Either way, Nketiah remains Marseille's number one priority this summer.

Alvarez is understood to be unhappy at the Etihad because of a lack of game time, with Erling Haaland firmly ahead of him in the pecking order.

In recent days, Atletico Madrid have been declared to be in advanced negotiations with him, while his agent has also flown to Paris to talk to PSG.

Arsenal, though, are following the situation.

Forest in audacious Edu raid

Nottingham Forest are making an audacious effort to pinch sporting director Edu away from Arsenal, according to a report from Brazil.

Universo Online claims Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis wants to make the Brazilian what the Sun describes as "sort-of CEO specialising in international football across all his endeavours".

Marinakis, who also owns Olympiacos and Rio Ave, "dreams" of having Edu as his "right-hand man".

Along with Mikel Arteta, Edu has been a cornerstone of Arsenal’s success in recent seasons and it would be a huge surprise if he were to leave for the City Ground.

Merino politely rejects Barcelona and Atletico Madrid

Mikel Merino is poised to sign for Arsenal, with CaughtOffside revealing that the agents of the Real Sociedad and Spain midfielder have already called Barcelona and Atletico Madrid to inform the Spanish giants of the player’s decision.

It is reiterated that the Euro 2024 hero is expected to sign with the Gunners in a matter of days.

Arsenal in ‘pole position’ to sign Rabiot

Arsenal are leading the way to sign Adrien Rabiot, who is a free agent after leaving Juventus in the summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

His mother Veronique Rabiot, who acts as his agent, said: “In fact, I am talking to certain clubs, but then some media link me to speaking with other teams that I am not in contact with.

“So I suppose that other people speak for me. But since the beginning of Adrien's career, I have been the only interlocutor with the clubs, and if a club has any interest, they must speak directly to me.”

Nico Williams transfer latest

PSG believe that Nico Williams is set on staying at Athletic Club this summer, Sport reports. The French side are said to be "convinced" with the stance the winger has taken.

Arsenal and Chelsea were also interested in the Spain Euro 2024 hero, who appeared to be closest to joining Barcelona.

However, he now appears destined to remain in Bilbao for one more year.
