Arsenal Transfer News Today: Merino 'DONE', Gyokeres TOO EXPENSIVE, Ramsdale LATEST
FootballTransfers runs through the latest Arsenal football transfer news updates, including the latest on Mikel Merino, Viktor Gyokeres and Aaron Ramsdale.
Mikel Merino imminent
Arsenal are set to announce Mikel Merino as their third signing of the summer transfer window, with the Gunners on the verge of signing the Spain Euro 2024 star.
The 28-year-old will join Arsenal from Real Sociedad, with Relevo announcing that a deal is “imminent” after terms were agreed between the two clubs.

Merino will cost a reported €30 million, and will join an impressive midfield crop that already contains the likes of Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and Jorginho.
Viktor Gyokeres “too expensive”
Arsenal remain interested in signing a new attacker this summer, but Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres is currently deemed too expensive by the Gunners.

The Sweden international has been a key target for Mikel Arteta’s side for the past few months after bagging 43 goals in all competitions during his debut campaign in Portugal.
We have been informed that Arsenal are willing to bid up to €60m for Gyokeres, although this doesn’t align with Sporting’s €70m asking price.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now backed this up, admitting to Men in Blazers (as per CaughtOffside): “Then if there are more outgoings there are some possibilities that Arsenal could add another offensive player.
“I don’t think it will be an expensive player like Viktor Gyokeres. I think this is too expensive, but maybe a new winger, a different type of player who can provide fresh energy behind Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.”
Aaron Ramsdale transfer has stalled
Aaron Ramsdale’s future remains uncertain and there is very little movement regarding a possible Arsenal exit.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who told CaughtOffside: “It’s completely quiet now with regards to Aaron Ramsdale.
“There have been no new movements or updates for a while now, so we will have to see what happens later in the window, based on a goalkeeper's domino.
“If he does end up leaving Arsenal, then yes guys, they could need one more goalkeeper.”
Eddie Nketiah to Marseille?
Marseille are willing to pay €20 million to sign Arsenal's Eddie Nketiah as discussions between the two clubs continue, according to The Telegraph.
In addition, ex-Gunners forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reportedly told Nketiah to join the French giants.
Marseille have already signed Mason Greenwood from Manchester United, but the French giants remain interested in another forward as they look to bolster the squad available to Roberto De Zerbi.
Mikel Arteta praises Gabriel Jesus
Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on Gabriel Jesus following an impressive start to pre-season.
The Brazilian has been linked with a summer exit over the past few weeks, although FootballTransfers understands that he is set to remain at the club.
Arteta has now hinted that a stay is likely following his comments after Arsenal’s 2-1 pre-season win over Man Utd.
The Spaniard said: “He looks really good, he looks really sharp. He’s changed a lot of things over the summer and he’s come back in top condition again.”
