Chelsea are reportedly preparing a €20 million offer for Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Mec.

Mec is a 16-year-old attacking midfielder/winger who has been likened to Neymar for his stylish play.

He has also been described as the most promising talent to come through Gremio's academy since Ronaldinho.

Chelsea have made a habit of signing young players from around the world in recent years.

South Americans Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez have agreed to move to Stamford Bridge next summer.

Meanwhile, Mec would have to wait until the summer of 2026 - when he is 18 years of age - to join his new teammates.

He has not even played for Gremio's senior team yet but has made waves in the youth sides that have caught the Blues' attention.

Chelsea's Gabriel Mec transfer offer

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Mec has given 'the green light' to Chelsea's approach to sign him.

The Brazilian is keen to join the Blues' long-term project - which has not been successful thus far but should pay dividends in the future.

And, according to Brazilian outlet Radio Bandeirantes, the West London club are preparing a €20 million transfer offer.

The structure of the deal would be just €7m up front, with an additional €13m in potential add-ons.

Gremio could also be entitled to 15 per cent of Mec's next transfer fee, should Chelsea decide to sell him at a later date.

Once again, the Blues are willing to pay over the odds for a youngster in the hopes that they develop into something special down the line.
