Ben Chilwell is exploring his options and has been offered to Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce, according to a report.

Speculation surrounding the future of the Chelsea left-back was few and far between on Deadline Day. This was likely due to the simple fact that there was not a whole lot of concrete interest in the former England international.

The 27-year-old is a big earner at Stamford Bridge, which made a late move away difficult. Chilwell does not have a future at Chelsea and coach Enzo Maresca has publically made this clear.

"Even though I love the way he is, the problem is he is struggling a bit to find the right position...I need to make a decision and probably it is better to leave and go and get minutes," the Italian said in mid-August.

The English window has slammed shut without much in the way of actual offers materialising, but there is still a chance to see Chilwell depart.

Chilwell exploring his options

According to Ben Jacobs, the left-back and Chelsea are still exploring open markets in hopes of finding a solution. Clubs in countries like Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, Portugal and Turkey can still make moves.

However, the journalist reports that Chilwell is not keen on a move to the Middle East. He has also revealed that the 27-year-old has been offered to Fenerbahce, now coached by ex-Blues boss Jose Mourinho.

During the English window, Brentford made an approach but talks never went beyond the initial stage. Man Utd were frequently linked but were never actually considering a move.

If Chilwell were to manage to secure a late move somewhere, it would most likely be a loan without an option to make the deal permanent. However, Jacobs reports that the ex-Leicester star is not desperate to leave Chelsea despite his reduced role.

Unlike the likes of Raheem Sterling and Armando Broja, Chilwell was never banished from the first team and he is content to stay at Chelsea.
