HITC reports that the midfielder has been told that he will no longer considered part of the club's senior leadership group.

The report says that head coach Enzo Maresca has communicated this decision to Gallagher's agents.

Gallagher was offered a new two-year contract by Chelsea, with an option of an extra year.

Chelsea reportedly value Gallagher at around £50 million, an amount that could do well in funding the acquisition of Napoli's Victor Osimhen.

Although the midfielder has been offered a three-year deal that would make him one of the club’s best-paid players, The Athletic reports, that he has declined the new deal.

Enzo Maresca on Conor Gallagher’s future

Chelsea boss Maresca, meanwhile, said about Gallagher's situation while on tour in the States with his side.

“At the moment, Conor will be back with us when we are at Cobham,” he said. I think he is already at Cobham or he will be in the next few days to start to do something with Cole Palmer and Marc Cucurella.

“Then he will train with us. When the transfer window is open, unfortunately, anything can happen. Not only for Conor but for all of the players.”
