Lukaku has spent the past two seasons on loan in Italy - at both Inter Milan and AS Roma - and he will reunite with Antonio Conte at Napoli, having enjoyed a prolific spell under the Italian at Inter.
The Belgian’s imminent arrival in Naples will likely signal the end of Victor Osimhen’s time at the club.
The former Lille forward is eager to leave Napoli and he is Chelsea’s number one transfer target as the Blues look to purchase a new number nine before Transfer Deadline Day on 30 August.
Romelu Lukaku will leave Chelsea
Since returning to Chelsea this summer, Lukaku has been forced to train with the club’s exile group, which also contains Raheem Sterling, Trevoh Chalobah and Ben Chilwell.
The Belgian re-joined the Stamford Bridge outfit for €113m in 2021, but he soon conducted a controversial interview with Sky Italia and his reputation in west London never recovered.
Aston Villa were also linked with a summer move for Lukaku, as they search for a replacement for Jhon Duran, but Unai Emery’s side have lost out to Napoli.
