The Spain U21 international was expected to join the west London outfit for around €40 million, but the move collapsed due to reported issues regarding personal terms.

As a result, Conor Gallagher’s move in the opposite direction was cast into doubt, with the England international forced to return to London despite completing his Atletico Madrid medical.

Gallagher eventually joined Atleti on 21 August, with Chelsea signing Joao Felix on a permanent deal in order to ensure the Englishman’s sale went through.

However, Omorodion’s future at the Wanda Metropolitano remains uncertain.

The summer arrivals of both Julian Alvarez and Alexander Sorloth mean the 20-year-old is currently Diego Simeone’s third-choice striker, and he could depart the club within the next week.

According to HITC, Omorodion has been offered to Arsenal, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle United as Atleti attempt to offload him.

The Colombian had been expected to join West Ham United, but their pursuit has ended following the arrival of Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund.

In addition, Real Sociedad and Bayer Leverkusen have both expressed their interest in the Spaniard as they eye a potential move before the transfer window closes on 30 August.

Omorodion, who featured for Spain at this summer’s Olympics, spent last season on loan at Alaves and he notched eight LaLiga goals in 34 appearances for the club.

He has four years left on his current contract at Atletico Madrid, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €12.1m - having steadily risen since the start of 2023.
