CONFIRMED: Everton close in on Nuamah and Mangala, target Chelsea’s Fofana
Everton are set for a frantic end to the summer transfer window, with the Toffees seeking to complete deadline-beating deals for Chelsea’s David Datro Fofana and Lyon duo Orel Mangala and Ernest Nuamah, FootballTransfers can confirm.
The Toffees are most advanced with the deal to bring Belgium international midfielder Mangala to the club, with the 26-year-old former Nottingham Forest player a natural successor to Amadou Onana in terms of his stature and playing style in the heart of the midfield. He has completed a medical with the Goodison Park side.

On the wing, meanwhile, Everton are chasing Nuamah, who signed permanently for OL this summer for €28.5 million after playing last term on loan from sister club Molenbeek. During that spell, he featured on 33 occasions and scored three goals.
Lyon want €30m for his sale while Mangala is likely to be a loan deal.

Everton moving for Calvert-Lewin replacement?
While the Toffees are on course to strike a double deal with Lyon, they have also carried an interest in two Chelsea stars.
David Datro Fofana is the transfer that looks likeliest to be done, with the possibility of a loan deal being struck.
FootballTransfers can confirm Everton’s interest in the 21-year-old, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €18.3 million, with reports earlier this week indicating that the Merseysiders had opened talks over a potential loan deal for the forward.
Indeed, Fofana could move in the opposite direction to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is wanted by both Arsenal and Chelsea as alternative offensive options. Sean Dyche has previously admitted that the striker could depart, and his void could be filled by the Blues youngster.
Meanwhile, there were also rumours that the Toffees might move for Armando Broja, who saw his loan to Ipswich breakdown. FootballTransfers’ understanding of the situation, however, is that this is not on the cards.
